LIPF was born in 2012 out of a vision to bring people together through classical music in Lancaster with top notch education and performances while creating a warm and inclusive community.

The festival has welcomed participants from 33 different countries and areas like Armenia, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Germany, Georgia, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thai, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, Vietnam, United Kingdom, and the United States.

The summer of 2024, we put on our festival again at Franklin & Marshall College. Students, guest artists and faculty come together from all over the world for 10 days of classes, one-on-one teaching, educational workshops, collaboration, competition, concerts and performances of piano soloists and chamber music.

During our festival, guest artists perform in a series of concerts in the Barshinger Hall. Students then have the opportunity to perform for these artists and receive individualized coaching in masterclasses on F&M campus.

Every year, we have competitions for both piano solo and chamber music. The top winners will be invited back to Lancaster to perform the following season.

At LIPF, we are proud to provide a multi-faceted experience for our participants. In addition to our intensive program, participants also receive solfege classes, yoga for musicians, culture classes, field trips to places like Curtis Institute, Kennedy Center, Steinway Piano Factory, and the Kimmel Center as well as opportunities to explore cultural sights of Lancaster County.

Our Lancaster community is close to our heart and during each festival we send students into our community to perform free concerts in local hospitals and retirement communities. We also offer scholarships on a merit basis to select students.

From master classes to guest recitals and enlightening lectures, the events of the 2024 Lancaster International Piano Festival are sure to be beneficial and inspiring to its participants as well as enhance our Lancaster community. Don't miss your chance to join us!

Young aspiring concert musicians, teachers, amateurs, and classical music lovers at large - all are invited to participate in our inspiring and informative ten-day program
